How Metering API works

SWC is a customer facing usage dashboard that presents the user with a single global view across all IBM software products regardless of hybrid deployment. SWC collects usage:

• directly from products that are not onboarded on to mcsp (saas, on-prem, hybrid, etc.) .
• from mcsp for products that are onboarded on to mcsp through mcsp.

SWC is an IBM software product component that provides a consistent usage collection for:

• system of record
• archive
• audit logs
• pipeline
  • protection scan files
  • augment such as create SWC account, product details, subscription or license details, etc.
  • usage summary calculation (saas, hybrid, in-progress)
  • distribution
    • SWLT
    • Segment/Amplitude feed for IBM products
    • DSW SapCC
    • BSS (future)
    • UI Global Dashboards for end-user customer
    • UI Status of submitted data (in progress)
