Reset password
Your Red Hat Marketplace password is associated with your user ID. To reset your password, go to the My Profile page.
Prerequisites
- Log in to Red Hat Marketplace.
About this task
Red Hat Marketplace uses both IBM and Red Hat ID providers to authenticate users. To reset your Red Hat Marketplace password, go to the ID provider associated to your profile. You can access your ID provider from the My Profile page.
Procedure
- On the main menu, click your user, and then click My Profile.
- To reset your password, on the Account Information section, click Change or Reset.
Result
Another page opens with either your IBMid or Red Hat ID profile. Continue to reset your password as the ID provider allows.
Switch among multiple accounts
Prerequisites
- create more than one account,
- register to more than one account, or
- create an account and register to a different account
Procedure
- To switch accounts, on the main menu, click your account, click your account again, and then click your new account.
Result
You switched your account. Red Hat Marketplace now charges purchases to this account.
Log out of Red Hat Marketplace
Procedure
- On the main menu, click your user, and then click Logout.
Result
You logged out of Red Hat Marketplace.
Update my profile
My profile shows your contact information and information on the account associated to your user name.
Procedure
- On the main menu, click your user, and then click My Profile.
- To update account fields, on the row of Account information, click the
Edit button (pencil icon). Available fields for update include:
- First Name
- Last Name
- To update contact information, on the row of Contact information, click the
Edit button (pencil icon). Available fields for update include:
- Primary phone number
- Secondary phone number
- Click Save.
Result
You updated my profile information.
Update my email address
Your email address is associated with your user ID. To reset your password, go to the My Profile page.
About this task
Your email address is associated to your user ID. To update your email address, go to the ID provider associated to your profile. You can access your ID provider from the My Profile page.
Procedure
- On the main menu, click your user, and then click My Profile.
- To update your email address, on the Account Information section, click Change or Reset.
Result
Another page opens with either your IBMid or Red Hat ID profile. Continue to update your email address as the ID provider allows.

Troubleshooting: My updated email address doesn’t show on my profile
When you update your email address with your ID provider, Red Hat Marketplace recognizes the update; however, your previous email address remains on the My Profile page.
My profile field descriptions
The following table shows fields and descriptions for the My Profile page.
Field | Description |

Name | The name of your user. Shows on the main menu, support cases, notifications, and so on. |
User ID | The email address associated to your user, also used to log in to Red Hat Marketplace. |
Accounts | The entities associated to your user, such as a company you work for. |
Password | The password associated to your user ID and used to log in to Red Hat Marketplace. |
The email address associated to your user, also used to log in to Red Hat Marketplace. | |
Phone Number | The phone numbers associated to your user, includes primary and secondary numbers. |
About ID providers
Red Hat Marketplace doesn’t authenticate users. Instead, we route you to a third-party ID provider to authenticate your session. Currently, Red Hat Marketplace supports the following ID providers:
