Product types and packaging options
Product types and packaging options
Red Hat Marketplace enables multiple product types and packaging options that can be delivered and deployed to a customer. You can choose from the following options:
- Software as a Service (SaaS): A cloud service that you provision and manage for the customer.
- Standalone application: Downloadable software that can be installed on a customer’s infrastructure.
- OpenShift Operator: Your containerized software that is a certified Operator.
- SaaS Operator hybrid: A cloud service that pairs with an Operator deployed to the customer’s OpenShift instance.
Professional services
Professional services can be offered only in conjunction with one of the listed software product types and not as a separate product by itself. As part of your product, you can configure Professional services either as a separate edition or a charge item included in an edition.
Professional services criteria
Professional services must meet the following criteria:
- Location: Services can be offered to customers in the U.S. and Canada only.
- Timing: Services can be sold in conjunction with a product or at any point after the product sale. All purchases must be for a pre-defined period and price.
- Measurement: The unit of measure for Professional services must be per engagement only. Red Hat Marketplace does not support per hour pricing for services.
- Listing: Services’ description, duration, and deliverables must be made explicit in the offering listing.
- Pricing: Pricing dimensions for professional services can be defined packages such as Silver, Gold, Platinum, or for a set number of hours ( for example 10, 20, or 50 hours).
- Delivery: After subscribing to a service, customers should be able to access the service or be contacted by the partner within two business days of subscription.
