Set up commerce model for a product edition
About commerce model setup for a product edition
The commerce model indicates associated charges, if any, that customers pay at the time of purchase. Red Hat Marketplace supports the following commerce models:
- Free edition
- Paid edition
- Free trial
Commerce model field descriptions
Name | description |
---|---|
Free edition | access to the product is free for the duration of the subscription |
Self-service digital purchase | access to the product requires accepting payment terms for the duration of the subscription |
Free trial | access to a trial version of the product is free |
Set up a Free trial product edition
Prerequisite
About this task
Procedure
- Navigate to product pricing setup.
- On the Commerce model section, on the How can customers purchase this edition list, select It is a free trial.
- On the Trial length box, enter a value.
- On the Grace period box, enter a value.
- On the Vendor charge ID box, enter a value.
- Click Save.

Name | description |
---|---|
Trial length | This is the number of days a customer has to try out the product without incurring fees. Enter a trial length between 10 and 90 days. We recommend 30 days. |
Grace period | This is the number of days a customer has to purchase the edition before their service ends. Enter a grace period between 10 and 30 days. |
Vendor charge ID | The unique identifier for the product being sold that is used in the partner’s inventory control system or price listing. |
